Thirsty Thursday: Abby Lane Food & Spirits

Hey folks, excited to be back in action again providing you with the inside scoop on where to find some great Bully Boy concoctions.

We started out the New Year by venturing over to Abby Lane Food and Spirits. Located in the heart of the theatre district, the casual and comfortable atmosphere combines with the upbeat and friendly staff to make for an overall fantastic experience. I wasn't able to try out their food, but I can assure you that it smelled scrumptious. I was however able to sample their impressive craft cocktail menu.

After meeting master mixologist, Jarek Mountain, he served me up a Saloon Keeper's Daughter. Below is the recipe…

1 1/2 oz Bully Boy White Whiskey
1/2 oz Amaro
1/2 oz Honey
1/4 oz lemon

Shake warm, fill with Iced Tea and serve

The White Whiskey provides a great balance with the sweetness of the honey and to top it off, the lemon provides a nice zesty kick.

After chatting with Jarek for a bit he mentioned that this is more of a summer cocktail, but it has still been very popular during the winter months. As New Englanders we are constantly looking for any excuse to escape the frigid weather and get into a summer state of mind, so head on over to Abby Lane Food and Spirits and grab yourself a Saloon Keeper's Daughter!

Until next time, Bully for You Boston!

  1. And that's close to the recipe that I drink here in Kodiak, Alaska. No BullyBoy rum for sale here - but I use Mount Gay as a poor substitute and basically this is what I call a Grog. The British Navy ration to their sailors to keep them from getting scurvy (or catching the fever). Lemon juice, sugar and rum. Who hoo oh how so delicious! You guys had better get some Rum to Alaska!
